Samples

Experimentation began by using procion mx, which involved painting on a screen and pulling it through onto fabric with a binder, which helped choose some colours for the palate. Experimenting on samples has been important in the project as some things don’t work, but can be resolved by just testing processes on fabric swatches.  For example, while experimenting on samples, the orange illuminating acid turned out pink/purple on samples that had been cross dyed. So other illuminated acid colours had to be tested on samples to find out which ones worked well and fitted in the colour palette. Then a decision was made to only use the certain colours in the final collection.

The degree show, is where the collection was displayed. The big show show included work from all final year students from Art and Design. We created brochures to show pictures of our collection and our details, take a look at some of pictures took for the brochure.
